Pretty surprised that one rooster is allowed per property. Seems like something that was out of date about a century ago. I’d certainly vote to change that.
I happen to like Lighthouse Coffee (on the Mesa) and they have the best avocado toast too!
I love it! The privileged griping about the privileged. Look in the mirror, people, we are all privileged just living here.
100% agree
First world problems.
I am sure a Urkainian would love to have a backyard to laze around in.
It is just a freakin' rooster. So tired of the privileged griping.
We had a couple of peacocks in our neighborhood for awhile when I was a kid. They are even worse than roosters with their cacophony.
Might be worth a neighborly chat if that hasn’t happened yet. It’s difficult to tell gender in chicks. People can end up with a rooster inadvertently. Or they might not have realized just how very noisy it was going to be…all day long. They might not want a rooster themselves but they can’t motivate to do something about it. Knowing it’s bothering others can be the push they need (this from experience).
Reads like tax shelter is #1 here; quality, people, and Santa Barbara are tied for a distant last place.
Thanks for the heads-up on Beans. Great spot, real BBQ!!!
El Fureidis, specifically-sorry.
A story from Edhat regarding the same property.

I had to stop going to Lighthouse. They were always out of everything - milk, tops, napkins, etc. And the coffee never tasted good. Maybe it's a front for something else....
Hurray for LaPoMoMuPa, but, my god that took a long time to get done. Now lets run it up Cliff Drive, or ClfDrMuPa
Lighthouse + Mesa Burger + Corner Tap + that kitchen concept on State Street are one company, with many investors. Same setup as Sherry Villanueva & her Acme group... profitability is unknown (/irrelevant, lol) as they pursue rapid expansion with investor money.
You got it!
I believe this is one of the benches in the small park area at the corner of Cottage Hospital.
The absolute worst & will probably get even more worse as they expand.
Lighthouse has the worst coffee. How are they expanding so much??
Bwhaaaaa!
I can't wait to bike Le LaPoMoMuPa and down Cliff to the FuZo.
Low Pigeon sold the whole business to Lighthouse!
"Allowing More Cannabis Farming" - here I thought it was to allow for more processing of plants already grown locally.
"Under pressure from growers, the county Board of Supervisors is tinkering with the acreage caps in its cannabis licensing ordinance, a move it says will encourage the construction of marijuana processing buildings in unincorporated areas and staunch the loss of tax revenue to other California counties." https://www.noozhawk.com/article/supervisors_amending_cannabis_rules_encourage_more_processing
"removing acreage for processing from the caps would free up about 12 more acres for cultivation"
"Bobroff suggested that the board change the cannabis acreage caps for the North County, where only three out of 1,575 acres in the cap have been reserved for processing — and leave the 186-acre cap for the Carpinteria Valley alone."
There is an appeal on one of the “wall signs” but is actually a roof sign by SB county definition. Roof signs are prohibited in SB County.

Nothin' says "cozy" like this room! /s "Invite two of your least-liked friends over into the sitting room, where you can stare uncomfortably at each other over non-conversation, as you'd have to really raise your voice in order to hear each other, anyway!"
In French, it would be Le LaPoMoMuPa, n’est-ce pas?
You’re welcome :)
Sorry about that. I could've sworn I read that Paso Robles was included.
