In the meantime, my fave pizza is Marty's on De La Vina. Really love their pizza made from scratch to order. Whole wheat or white crust. Super fresh toppings. Totally local family.
I just love that little spot.
I'm still in awe that the buyer of 851 Buena Vista could not see that the only "renovation" and "reimagining" that happened was a white paint bath, a re-stain of floors, and an extraction of lush foliage. Oh...and the family room fireplace was resurfaced. It's crazy. Crazy! So curious who was duped!
Presidio Ave & E. De La Guerra St.
I don’t understand how they could let that house go into foreclosure over a relatively small amount compared to its value. Why didn’t they just reduce the asking price for a quick sale?
Santa Barbara Bowl has always been lily white! You want diversity - valet the car and hit up a Hispanic, Indonesian or Native performance at the Samala showroom.
The Neutra fire was tragic. Can’t seem to wrap my head around 10M for a rebuild. Makes little sense.
Sear has been operating as Sear, and will continue operating as Sear- the only changes will be some added snazzy salads and appetizers, other than that- it will stay the same beautiful, expensive steakhouse. Can’t wait to visit Vega Vineyards!
Our mountains are so beautiful. Thx for the pics.
Ennisbrook seems successful enough for a four-month flip even with costs, especially for someone who is running a portfolio, and also I think he wasn't just referring to the money. I think they did a nice job of making it turnkey.
Price is the price and math is math. She wins some she loses some this one looks like a push. She doesn't do it for the money
With all due respect, everything I’ve ever heard or seen about Ellen indicates that she’s an exceptionally savvy businesswoman. Due to that and how profitable the market has been in the last year or so it seems quite silly to think that she would do this without making a profit.
I don't think they put all that much into this one, and we don't know what their commission structure is. Was it wildly successful? No. Was it successful? Sure.
Stop with the successful flip nonsense. After commissions and what they undoubtedly put into the place they broke even at best. We live next to their recent purchase on Hot Springs and there have been 10-15 trucks parked on the road since the day it closed so when she flips this one it will likely have quite a bit init above the purchase price.
Wow! Over 3 3/4 million for (what I’m pretty sure is) a prefab/modular/Kit House @ 660 Orchard Lane. Completely insane…
660 Orchard Avenue (off East Valley just north of Romero Canyon) sold in 6days for $600,000 over asking! The lot size is 7,400 sq ft- no pool- very small “city sized” lot. The sale price is $3,776,000! I heard the out-of-town buyer purchased the home without seeing it in person.
Talking about seafood… any word on progress at Sealegs? I was surfing at campus point last weekend so drove by and saw no construction.
The initials are from a previous owner of the largest and most grand home on Edgecliff lane. It was owned by a Los Angeles attorney by the name of Lester Alan Berman.
He was quite the man about town and threw lots of raucous parties at the house in the 70s & 80s. He was later killed while breaking into a house of an acquaintance of his in Santa Barbara, reportedly attempting to murder at least one of the two people.
He had quite the reputation prior to his demise.
I know where it is, but I’d also love to know if there’s a story there. Looks like it could be a family crest or logo…is it anything noteworthy or historical?
I work on this house on the construction team and it’s pretty nuts. The total build price is $200,000,000. Definitely not my cup of tea for that price tag but it does have some incredible features.
That Riteaid space would be a good location for a high end grocery store.
That’s on the walking path parallel to Miramar beach. Near Bonnymede.
It may be time for you to move. I also live in the neighborhood and I like the rooster. Makes me remember that we all matter.
Roosters aren't allowed within the Montecito community plan area. Montecito Land Use & Development Code §35.442.040.F.1.f: No rooster or peacock shall be kept or raised on the lot.
Regarding the utility pole on Cedar Lane. My parents paid to have a similar eyesore moved underground out of their view on the Upper Riviera. It was $20k, 20-something years ago.
