Cal Matters reported on the bill with a little bit of shade implying it’s a bunch of rich Santa Barbarian NIMBYs who don’t want that development behind the mission…wrong. It’s also us working locals! I am all for more low income housing - I’ve qualified for it before - but this building is a hideous monstrosity that shouldn’t exist. In this era of “black and white/extreme” thinking and debate, we need to understand multiple things can be true at the same time. Truth: we need more housing. Truth: this building is awful in many ways. We need to find a solution, but it isn’t this project.
Thank you Senator Limón for standing up for REAL Santa Barbarians who don’t want this! We aren’t a bunch of rich celebrities; we’re real people who live and work here and recognize a bad project when we see one.
This picture show reminds me of life back East, where, as the Western essayist Ed Abbey put it - "every sign begins with "No" --
Why did you go and get political? So dumb,
I would love some information on the condos and homes and when these will be up for sale and information on them and any staging home or condos that I could see
Nope, but thanks for guessing!
The former Mira Monte hotel on East Cabrillo Blvd?
I met Lester in 1986 on a beach in Mexico. He was with Greg, his son. I went to his home in Monticeto and again met his son, Greg. I found out about his death from a mutual friend I has met through Lester. A man named Roge, a man from India. I never met his first wife and he referred to his wife Hana and son Jack, I never met them and could not quite understand the relationship.
Loved them❌⭕️ got one of my favorite nicknames from Andy #debra
My mom got married there back when Andy and Dolly owned it.
What were they thinking when they got rid of the wooden beams at 1071 E. Mountain drive (can be seen in the previous listing photos on Redfin.com but not in the app) and turned it into a prefab/container home lacking any character whatsoever?
We went shortly after they opened and enjoyed the staff, location, and what they'd done with the place, but the food was just bland. Very sad because they Mesa could really use an Indian place like Apna. Whether in person or via Grubhub, Apna has never disappointed.
Let us work on this Hilary - lol
xo
Thanks Eric!
Mate G. dreams about these cottages every day - and one right in our neighborhood. Heaven.
I live near 22O W Figueroa and was shocked to see the for sale front of that shack the other day. And $1.7 mill for a seemingly haunted meth lab?? Hard pass.
It's refreshing to see the word "entropy" in a real estate story. It brings an air of literary sophistication. I bet you are the only writer to use it in that context.
A massive structure in a fire prone area with pretty much one way out. A blue print for death and disaster.
Someone ran into it. Poor visibility at that spot due to the flat road at the top of the incline. That’s why they went with crossing lights like a stop light.
Ain’t happening.
Do you have the same dream every night?
Any idea what happened with SB City constructing a pedestrian island originally at Las Positas then tore it up?
It’s amazing the speed these folks seem to have - like the White House fixing the border, it is simply fantastic how now elected officials CAN do miracles when they put the “elbow grease” on the squeak! Let’s hope Ms Limon is as successful as the Border Patrol with stopping the incoming of #megapartment
Great news! Be sure to express your support to Senator Limón. You can drop her a quick message on her website. Thank you Senator!
lol, Luxxe is about as LA as it gets
I agree. Save yourself the headache of Ospi and just go to Bettina! Unfortunately, the ineptitude of The Post is already getting old. If I want a side of LA attitude with my food and shopping, then I'll just go to LA. Although it's funny because I enjoy shopping at the Shoppe Amber Interiors in Calabasas far more than the one here. Shoppe at The Post is so unpleasant. The manager always seems awkward, suspicious and rude, and her associates are not very design savvy or helpful. When they first opened several of the girls were great but I guess have since moved on. I like the brand but they would have to clean house before I consider going back. Little King is really good, and a nice alternative to having to fight traffic in the Mart's lot for Cafe Luxxe. But watch out for falling palm tree branches in The Post lot! Two hit my car and so I am not too eager to return. Also, the bird smell is temporary, maybe just during the summer months? I swear I can smell it even with my car windows rolled up driving by lol.
I truly hope that development behind the mission never comes to fruition, what an absolute eyesore
that rendering! jfc!
