The New Westside Pizza Joint Is Going to Be Way Cooler Than Expected

••• Revolver, the pizzeria opening on the Westside, is from the folks behind The Coterie Club, which was doing pop-up events around town before Covid hit. Here’s what they have to say at this point: “We’re looking to open the second week of August. It’ll be like a little vinyl bar, we’ll play records, sell pizza, and drink natural wine. Menu will be small with only a few options. Whole round pies (red and white), squares by the slice, a few salads, and a limited bread program.” The name comes from the Beatles record.

••• From San Ysidro Ranch: “We will be re-opening to the public for breakfast, lunch and Sunday’s champagne brunch with all outdoor dining, of course! Brunch will begin this Sunday, July 19, and full dining hours begin Monday, July 20.”

••• Hook & Press has a new innovation: donuts cakes. “Includes one 10-inch vanilla bean sprinkle donut, one 6-inch chocolate sprinkle donut, one standard sized donut of your choice from the current menu and 6 donut holes (flavor rotates daily) – $23. Donuts are provided in a box, unstacked.” They require 48 hours’ notice.
