The San Roque Outpost of Renaud’s Is Expanding

••• Thanks to A. for the scoop that the Loreto Plaza outpost of Renaud’s—i.e., the one next to Harry’s Plaza Cafe—is going to expand into the former CircaTerra store next door. I went over to confirm it, and the staffer said it’s true, but not likely to happen for a while, as they’ve just entered the planning stage.

••• Noozhawk has more on the revamp of Corner Tap, including that there will be “a new entertainment program, with live music performances, sports viewing events, comedy, and tasting events.”

••• Pokewaves at Turnpike and Calle Real opened for a soft opening yesterday, reports J.

••• “Lighthouse Coffee plans to add another restaurant in the Calle Real Center in Goleta later this year. The shop will take over a portion of the former Outback building.” That would seem to call into question the plan for a Finney’s-esque restaurant called The Landing in the space. Time will tell…. —Noozhawk

••• An announcement from the city of Santa Barbara (which I edited so it made more sense): “In May 2020, the City authorized restaurants to construct temporary parklets in the street or temporarily expand outdoor dining facilities into parking lots and private property in response to Covid-related restrictions on indoor business operations. The ordinance […] will expire at the end of 2023. The City is exploring whether to extend the authority for outdoor dining in the public right-of-way, and if the community desires permanent, expanded outdoor dining. The City invites the community to complete a brief online survey about outdoor dining [and] is hosting a community forum on Tuesday, June 20, at 8:30 a.m. in the Faulkner Gallery, located in the Central Library, to gather community input.”

••• Revolver is now selling its ranch and Caesar salad dressings in 16-ounce milk bottles.

I peeked into The Landing space a couple months ago when the fencing was down and it was definitely being framed for two separate businesses. Thanks for the intel (as always!) about Lighthouse going in.
