Seven Bar & Kitchen Is Closing This Month

••• After 10 years in the Funk Zone, Seven Bar & Kitchen announced that it will be closing on August 28: “This was not our decision, we love you guys and the business was doing well! Our landlord has decided to go in a different direction with new tenants.” The establishment is throwing a farewell party on August 14 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and owner Mike Gomez is said to be actively looking for a new space. The new tenant, meanwhile, has long been rumored to be Silvers Omakase, from former Sushi Bar chef Lennon Silvers Lee, but it remains unconfirmed.

••• Marty’s Pizza has closed a bit earlier than expected. The building—along with the one across De La Vina—will be demolished as part of the replacement of the De La Vina Street bridge over Mission Creek.

••• I was surprised to learn from a friend that you can use Instacart to shop at Costco even if you’re not a Costco member, but you pay a higher price.

••• Edible Santa Barbara discovered that Fresco Cafe’s new space is the former Sevtap Winery on E. Canon Perdido. It’s shooting to open in September.

••• Kyle’s Chicken House in Isla Vista has closed. —Restaurant Guy

••• M., who says dinner at the new AMA sushi at the Miramar resort was “pricey but good,” sent over photos of the à la carte menu. UPDATE 8/5: The restaurant posted the menu as a series of stories on Instagram, so I made a quick-and-dirty collage of screenshots to run instead.

TRACY

I find it sad that a landlord would kick out a successful business to put a new concept in its place. I wish 7 Bar & Kitchen all the best! Hope they can find a new location.
