It’s become my pet peeve that who ever is reviewing a business neglects to offer an address. Specifically I’m speaking of Azul. Even going to their website there is not a specific address. Based upon pictures one can figure it out but why? Why be so cryptic? Has to be a reason but I can’t fathom it.
In the Press Room fight if you think the defense was "I guess the but-it’s-my-favorite-bar defense didn’t work. " then you are either willfully ignorant or weren't paying attention. Building yet another hotel amongst declining vacancy rates that virtually no one in the community wants building - except other wealthy developers or those with vested interests - is not even close to sound community planning. Honestly, check yourself, Siteline.

Probably paying high rent????‍♀️
Thanks for the warning on the "sponsored" email. I wondered what happened to the Sunday news drop.
Welcome to Santa Barbara, and do you have any understanding of overhead (food costs, payroll, payroll taxes, rent, etc etc) and basic economics? Dutch Garden charges the same price for a pastrami sandwich. Wexler's are also making their pastrami in house, and it's about as good as any place in California, and up there with some of the best pastrami houses in New York. But there's always Sam's to Go and Subway if you're on a budget.

Look forward to having you at Gala! Ask for me when you get there, I’m there most nights! - Tara
Yes, I was shocked about the change up at Lucky’s. Felt like the previous manager had been there forever. Lucky’s is full of long time employees and even thought we don’t go a lot we always see familiar faces. Too bad about Via Vai, seemed like a good fit for that location. Still waiting for Ramon’s new place to open in Country Mart. It has been shuttered up tight with no activity the last few times I’ve been over there. Interesting list of 16 best new restaurants to try in SB on Eater.com. Can’t say I agree with all the choices, but need to check out Gala and go back to Secret Bao. https://la.eater.com/maps/best-santa-barbara-restaurants-california
How can I contact you?
Tried Yetz and it’s amazing! Just what we needed!
Not sure whether you mean Lama Dog or Teddy's, but the answer is yes either way. Both proprietors confirmed the plans in the recent roundup of forthcoming restaurants: https://www.sitelinesb.com/the-48-restaurants-expected-to-open-in-coming-months/
Is this still happening?
They sure do- but honestly I need fries....and while it's no where near the flavor profile of Priedite- the burgers at Charlies in Los Alamos are danm good- the mushroom burger! The cheeseburger is so good- the shredduce/pickle/special sauce/toasted bun is so close to a Jalama Burger- its criminal....
I thought your post re: Carl Wescotts’s “screw you move” was pretty mean. Katy was not the bad guy in all this. People love to bash celebrities when they don’t deserve it. It’ll be a bad move for the neighbor hood when she doesn’t move in & turns it into an Airbnb. Thanks Carl
DRILL BABY DRILL!
Come on! $19 for a sandwich?? Gold dust on a bagel! Whatever happened to just good, simple, fairly priced food with friendly service?
Homeless housing directly across from BevMo. Go figure.
George has the smash burger/Shake Shack history here: https://youtu.be/yC8fvt-CxP0?si=H4Zl7HK2Z5X6g-T5&t=139
No, it's nothing like Third Window. LMAO. Theres NO WAY Shake Shack could source the quality of meat that TW does, and TW makes a very specific type of burger taken from a regional classic and made famous by a YouTube burger influencer. Nobody does it like TW. And what's next, a Taco Bell drive thru?
christine! I agree Priedite Barbeque has the best burger ever!
Dan, forgive my ignorance but what is YT?
Love both shake shack and third window... But third window is far superior, as it should be, considering they are handcrafted, and use higher and ingredients. Shake shack has crinkle cut fries, not waffle... And I think they're the best fast food fries around. But third window fries are great too.
Great photos of the Whale House Erik!
