••• Jeannine’s is taking over the prominent State Street Coffee space at State Street and Cabrillo Boulevard, says John Palminteri. It should kill it there.

••• Alessia Patisserie & Cafe, a couple of doors down from Handlebar on E. Canon Perdido, is opening this month. —Edible Santa Barbara

••• From Sweet Wheel Farm & Flowers: “Sweet Wheel Farms has been accepted into and is coming soon to the Saturday Santa Barbara farmers’ market! Look for our handmade tortillas in the six colors of corn we grow, our tasty corn chips, and prepared masa to make your own tacos at home!” Right: black corn tortillas.

••• Bar Le Côte update from Eater Los Angeles: “To help kick off the ‘coming soon’ party, chef [Brad] Mathews and the team will be in Santa Monica this month, running a two-day Bar Le Côte pop-up inside of Rustic Canyon on June 11 and 12. There will be small bites and sherry cocktails in addition to the regular Rustic Canyon menu [….] As for the actual restaurant opening, expect more info in a couple of weeks or more.” Rustic Canyon is one of my favorite L.A. restaurants, if you’ve never tried it.

••• Costa Kitchen & Bar at the Mar Monte Hotel soft-opens tonight, then pauses and fully opens for dinner next Wednesday. The menu is a bit more interesting than you might expect, although $9 for a plate of dates is a tad too Chez Panisse for me. —Restaurant Guy

••• 805 Foodie reports that Model Citizen restaurant and bar is coming to Ventura’s Oak Street this summer. The proprietors are brothers Derek and Blake Ulrich of nearby Prospect Coffee Roasters. Below: a rendering from the architect, Nu-Line Partners.
