Santa Claus Lane Is Getting a Year-Round Christmas Shop

••• Well, that settles the question of whether James Perse is keeping the store at the Montecito Country Mart as it prepares to open a store at Angel’s former space on Coast Village Road.

••• Ensemble Theatre Company is bringing Heidi Schreck’s highly regarded What the Constitution Means to Me to town (August 15-18), “starring Stacy Stoltz, Paul Fagen and featuring a local student debater. What the Constitution Means to Me is a deeply personal and timely piece recounting Schreck’s teenage years participating in constitutional debate competitions. The production examines the profound ways the U.S. Constitution shapes our lives.”

••• The Summer Solstice Celebration (June 21-23) is looking for volunteers. Who wouldn’t want to add “float pusher” to his or her resume?

••• Coming up at the Lobero Theatre: Eric Idle on September 4 and Aimee Mann on October 30. Here’s one that’s fun to sing along with in the car.

••• The Music Academy has changed its name back to Music Academy of the West.

••• Commercial real estate agent Caitlin Hensel reports that a year-round Christmas shop called Christmas N Carpinteria is opening on Santa Claus Lane: “this space will be connected to Dirt Botanicals and Garden Market so you can flow through the spaces without going outside.” Look for it to open this summer just in time for, um, whatever.

••• Soul Care Studio + Sauna opened a few months ago at 1101 Anacapa Street: “We offer infrared sauna, cold plunge tank, halotherapy, and guided meditation in our Somadome.” I believe that’s the Somadome below.

Jule Hus, the christmas store in Solvang, is a treasure! One of my top 5 questions is, “where is the christmas store?”
