••• The former youth hostel building at 134 Chapala Street (across the tracks from the train station) finally sold, and not to the city for housing the homeless. The buyer’s agent, Dan Encell, says the plan is to turn it into a “fun, hip youth hostel.” The closing price was $3.75 million.

••• Good news for Summerland: The Highway 101 southbound onramp at Wallace Avenue reopens today.

••• A chunk of Bella Vista Drive in Montecito is closed for a month and a half.

••• You can buy a personalized brick at the new library plaza through the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation. I love the name the organization chose for the sample.

••• F45 fitness studio is hoping to open next year in Goleta’s Magnolia Shopping Center (5184 Hollister Avenue). First, it needs a conditional use permit, according to the November 3 agenda of the county’s Planning Commission. Below: the popular branch at Cota and Anacapa.

••• Solo shows by Nathan Huff and Inga Guzyte (below) just opened at Sullivan Goss.
