Opening Date Set for Westside Pizza Shop Revolver

••• Revolver, the pizza shop/vinyl bar coming to 1429 San Andres Street on the Westside, will open on August 13. It appears to be open as a restaurant noon to 10 p.m, and in the morning (from 9 a.m.) it’ll sell sourdough breads, demi baguettes, and Low Pigeon’s hot nitro coffee.

••• Restaurant Guy hears that the Dutch Garden German restaurant might be coming back to life.

••• The Independent profiles Carol and Benjamin Schuster of SB Paella Catering, which has pivoted to “launching a food truck to cook on-site for customers and deliver with no-contact doorstep drop-offs.”

••• Tickets are still available for a special five-course Italian dinner at Satellite on August 5. The menu sounds good; tickets are $90, which includes tip, and for $30 more, you get wine pairings. (“We intend to make this a regular thing! Keep an eye out for upcoming events on the first and third Wednesdays of each month!”)

••• Red Pepper Chinese restaurant in Goleta “closed in April 2019 after decades in business. On July 28 of this year the restaurant had a grand opening under new ownership. Chef and owner Leon Hao has been working for the last 9 months renovating the business with a new kitchen, plumbing, restroom, floor and a new coat of paint.” —Restaurant Guy

••• D. reports that Tino’s Italian Grocery has reopened.

••• I live outside the Better Burrito delivery zone, so I had to go to Old Town Coffee in Goleta to try one of the breakfast burritos. The chile relleno one was excellent! As was the tomatillo salsa. And the coffee. All in all, highly recommended. (Sorry for the unappetizing photo. Trust me, it looked great in real life.)
