Turnkey Montecito Is Still Hot

There aren’t as many notable new listings this week, possibly because so many folks are occupied by the start of the school year. These are the six that stood out….

So freshly redone it probably smells of wet paint, 2480 Sycamore Canyon Road ($3.175 million) is the kind of move-in-ready house that has been going into escrow immediately. This one did, even though it’s right on a busy road.

Update some surfaces at 995 Mariposa Lane ($4.995 million) and you could have a nice set-up.

················

Next-door neighbors 138 Coronada Circle ($2.25 million) and 142 Coronada Circle ($2.495 million) on Eucalyptus Hill came online the same day. In 138’s favor: it’s single-level, in a community where folks especially value that. While the house at 142 is also technically single-level, the pool is down a set of stairs; on the other hand, it has three full baths (vs. 138’s two and a half) and it looks like it needs less work. Both have splendid mountain views.

················

A thorough redecorating—and a new roof—could do wonders at 2081 China Flat Road ($4.295 million) in Birnam Wood. Amazing mountain views.

················

Love the Smurf-blue kitchen at 217 La Vista Grande ($1.849 million), but I’d paint everything else white, the better to show off the marvelous openness of the lot.

················

Lot 12 in “the exclusive private gated community of Rancho Monte Alegre,” 210 Lindberg Lane ($6.4 million) in Carpinteria is 40 acres of opportunity just waiting for someone with vision, money, and patience. In the meantime, it’d make a sweet picnic spot.
