This Is What Your House Looks Like on Acid

Noteworthy new listings….

It’s a shame most of the furnishings have been removed from 1777 Calle Poniente ($1.099 million), east of Elings Park, for I would’ve loved to see the house in its unfettered glory. (The tile work is by Perry Hoffman and Doug Smith, the men behind the Tile House in Twentynine Palms.) And now I can’t get “Love Shack” out of my head….

················

The 1999 house at 3271 Beach Club Road ($6.95 million), in the Padaro Beach enclave, has midcentury lines and the kind of floor plan an architect might design for himself (as was indeed the case). The location is peachy, and the outdoor spaces are inviting—more so if you hid the brick wall—but the bathrooms want updating and the use of pebble pavement indoors will not be to everyone’s taste. P.S. Love the round skylight in the entry.

················

The views, open space, and quaint atmosphere outside/upstairs at 1633 Overlook Lane ($4.4 million) are all big plusses—downstairs is less successful—and on a different part of on Eucalyptus Hill, the four-bedroom house would be a steal at this price.

················

East Coast style abounds at 2301 State Street ($2.198 million), at the corner of Pueblo Street, but the kitchen is dated and wood floors would make a huge difference.

················

The sweet 1930 Spanish bungalow at 417 Calle Palo Colorado ($1.895 million) in San Roque has mucho charm and it looks turnkey. There’s only one-and-a-half baths for the two bedrooms, though.

················

And a couple others worth checking out:
••• 722 Rockwood Drive ($1.895 million): Drab 1967 ranch house but with potential for coolness here and there—and a gate opening onto Sheffield Park.
••• 4671 Boulder Ridge Road ($3.5 million): “Estimated completion of the finished home is approximately 10 months from groundbreaking. Buyer will have the ability to select some finishes.”
