This Is What a $100,000 Rental Looks Like

••• A house on Romero Canyon Road—the exact address is being withheld—has been listed for rent (May 15-October 15) for $100,000 per month. Thrice-weekly housekeeping is included; perhaps that’s the maid in this photo of the kitchen photos…? Or hanging out by the parking area…?

••• It’s starting to seem as if every actor in this year’s Oscar race is getting honored by the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. (That’s not a coincidence; this area is rich with Academy voters.) Newly added to the list: Laura Dern (Marriage Story, Little Women); Cynthia Erivo (Harriet); George MacKay (1917); Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart), and Aldis Hodge (Clemency).

••• Meanwhile, at the Riviera Theatre: “Starting Wednesday, December 25, we will be showing the 15 documentaries chosen […] for the 92nd Oscars documentary shortlist.” And on December 29, Biggest Little Farm director John Chester will do a Q&A after the screening.

••• Coast Supply Co., the flooring company on Santa Claus Lane, is opening an outpost in the former Denny’s restaurant space on Calle Real in Goleta. I’m not sure whether this is in addition to the showroom on S. Magnolia Ave. or whether it’ll replace it. —Restaurant Guy

••• From the Montecito Association: “Our first Land Use Committee meeting of the year promises to be a big one. We’ll be looking at telecom equipment installations for Southern California Gas to monitor their lines, and the San Ysidro Roundabout. You can see the agenda here. A fact sheet on the San Ysidro Roundabout is here. It goes before the Montecito Board of Architectural Review January 9, so you’ll get to see it first at our Land Use Committee January 8!” The meeting is at 4 p.m. at 1469 East Valley Road, and the agenda promises “new information on [the roundabout’s] design, neighborhood focus, pedestrian, traffic & safety issues.”
