Third Window Is Opening in Carpinteria

You read it here first: The best burgers in Santa Barbara, by pretty much everyone’s estimation, are coming to Carpinteria. Third Window Brewing Co. has signed on at the multi-tenant complex at 700 Linden Avenue, where Bettina and a Corazón Cocina offshoot are already onboard. The new Third Window outpost will focus on burgers, barbecue, and beer.

There are still two more food-and-beverage spaces available at 700 Linden: a coffee shop and the rooftop bar. As for retail, Channel Island Surfboards has taken a storefront on Linden, and rumor has it that a yoga/Pilates studio has also signed a lease. The development aims to open by early summer.

Gentrification? Carp has basic condos selling for $1m. The gentrification already happened and continuing to whine about a beach city in California being gentrified is absurd. God forbid a well established Santa Barbara restaurant and brewery open a second location 15 miles away. Maybe if it was another taco shop or pizza place in Carp you would approve?

Oh, the horror of having a clean spruced-up Downtown! Smells like progress and will draw more people to our struggling downtown! It’s much better than a rundown Downtown.

Huge bummer. Was supposed to be a topa topa outpost and they were going to bring in their 1% for the planet/community-first model but third window came swooped in at the last hour. Plus developers were super shady about it. Was so looking forward to this community-first concept but now it’s looking like another cookie-cutter gentrified spot that carp doesn’t want or need

I agree with Hayley 100% we don’t want that or need it in carpinteria. Topa topa would have been a great choice.

Totally disagree. Third window has better beer and great burgers. 1% for the planet is a merchandizing gimmick. Quit shilling for Topa.

Third window is funded by the Fess Parker trust fund. 1% For the Planet is a globally recognized certification that donates profits to non-profits fighting predominately climate change. Google it. Next question.

1% lol. Meanwhile those who have brainwashed you fly around in private jets. A climate suckered born everyday.

Christine!

Haley dear- Fess Parker Trust fund? Damn near everyone of Fess Parker’s children and grandchildren work for the established companies or have struck out on their own- Third Window being one of them, and is successful due to the hard work of Christopher Parker- no one handed him anything. Go read the web page for Fess Parker Winery- a true family affair. Your back handed side eye could not be more wrong.

@ carp local “We don’t want or need?” Speak for yourself. You sound like the typical “LA go home” crowd. That BS is played out. Grow up.

It’s funny. I know the owners of Third Window and several of the partners at Topa Topa and all are TERRIFIC people. I am baffled, however, at the gentrification distinction between the two – either would have been a great addition to our downtown. Hopefully we can get both!

The “another cookie-cutter gentrified spot that carp doesn’t want or need” title is only applicable to third window occupying the spot? But when Topa wanted it, it was going to be a cool hip 6th (cookie cutter) location. I doubt you would be commenting and liking negative things on instagram and siteline if Topa secured the spot. In reality, most of Topa’s locations inhabit spaces that have all experienced major gentrification changes. Hanging out off the Ave for a beer? Spending the day in the funk zone? The craft beer movement in and of itself is one big gentrification movement that both Topa and Third have found great success with!

Happy there so many other Topa locations where people can support community based model and their 1% pledge. Community over competition, right? Welp, see you in line for a burger! ???????? ???? ♥️

If my choice is “gentrify” vs vacant rotting building, I’ll choose the former. Personally, I see myself enjoying all 3 burger joints (Dang, Spot, 3rd) just depends on the day/mood

I think they’ll be a good addition, either one would be. I hope Third Window can keep up with beer production. While I don’t go there as much as I used to when they regularly were out of 2-4 beers, it still seems like they are out of even staple beers on occasion. Best wishes to them.

I’m looking forward to the Grand Opening.
It will be worth the trip up from Oxnard. This could be our “go to “ eatery since The Palms went dark.

It’s a new restaurant coming to carpinteria. It’s not launching a rocket. Quit over analyzing and just go out and enjoy your day, or evening and quit worrying about things. If you go there and have a good time and meal, home run. If you have a bad meal and a lousy time, don’t go back. But really debating about things you have no control over is time you will never get back. It’s just a burger and a beer !

Wayne thank you for simplifying everything. If only it was that easy. Please allow someone to have an opinion without minimizing. ????????

Congratulations Carpinteria on the prospective arrival of a first class restaurant and brewery! As for Hayley and several other disgruntled commenters here, lighten up people. It’s gonna be great and you’ll find yourself there before too long enjoying a tasty burger and cool beer. Many thanks to Kristopher Parker and company for continuing their family’s tradition of doing business here in Santa Barbara County.
