The Santa Barbara Bowl Announced Six More Shows

••• The shows keep coming at the Santa Barbara Bowl: Smashing Pumpkins on May 13, Rod Stewart and Cheap Trick on June 18, Brandi Carlile on June 21, Slightly Stoopid on July 17, the Black Crowes on July 24, and the terrific Leon Bridges on September 8. As usual, you appear to be able to buy tickets the day before the official sale date with the presale password SBBOWL.) And the Bridges concert has a disclaimer I haven’t seen before: “Dynamic pricing is set for this event. Ticket prices may fluctuate, based on demand, at any time.”

••• And I don’t plan on getting in the habit of including concerts in Paso Robles, I can’t resist the combination of Lord Huron and First Aid Kit at Vina Robles on May 24. UPDATE: Apparently First Aid Kit won’t be there after all; see Doug’s comment.

••• Werp spotted a new Instagram account for Victor the Florist, which has been dormant since the pandemic started. The first post says, “Coming soon (2.0).”

••• From the Channel Islands National Park: “East Anacapa Island, including all campground sites, will be closed […] through August 31 for dock construction.”

••• Opening February 25 at Sullivan Goss: “Sculpture & Painting by Ken Bortolazzo and Michael Dvortcsak.”

••• I was worried that David Flores‘s tribute to Maurice Sendak wouldn’t survive the renovation of the former Church of Skatan building on E. Gutierrez, but the person I spoke with at owner Brown Design Group said she was pretty sure the mural isn’t going anywhere.

Erik, I think you jumped the gun on First Aid Kit opening for Lord Huron in Paso Robles. I have been wanting to see First Aid Kit for years, so I was excited when I saw your post. But First Aid Kit is not listed as an opening act on the Vina Robles website. I also checked the Lord Huron website and First Aid Kit website. Alas, it looks like First Aid Kit doesn’t join the tour until they hit the midwest in August.

Sorry about that. I could’ve sworn I read that Paso Robles was included.
