The New Lighthouse Coffee Opens Today

••• When I peeked in on Sunday, the Lighthouse Coffee coming to the former Breakfast space at Chapala and Ortega looked close to opening. Sure enough, it debuts today; hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

••• State Street Coffee is moving a but south to 1 State Street, the building at State and Cabrillo that was formerly home to Due Lune, and before that, Eladio’s. “The Romasanta family owns the neighboring Harbor View Inn and operated Eladio’s restaurant on the property for 20 years. The family launched State Street Coffee in July, 2006 [….] Romasanta tells me he has a full liquor license and that some day down the road he will reopen the beautiful bar that he built in the back room of the property.” The café soft-opens around June 10, and there’s no word about what will happen to the existing State Street Coffee space at 29 State Street. —Restaurant Guy

••• “Noemi, a Roman-style pizzeria, is coming soon to 3534 State Street [at Ontare Road], the former home of Pizza Guru. Located in the San Roque neighborhood, they will serve pizza al taglio (by the cut), calzones, paninis, salads, and more.” —Restaurant Guy

••• I stopped by the Lucky Llama café in Carp the last two days, and each day, there were tubs of Gerbera daisies (or something like that) for anyone to take. The staffers said it happens often, but not every day.
