PS- the generated photo previously used was more hidious though
If you read the city paperwork- they describe the current Pea Soup design as “art deco”. I don’t think what they think is our deco matches the photo provided, that’s not the photo they’ve been using to show how the new building will look
Actually- the Art Deco style they speak of.... is what the current building is described as.
Villas 1880 -1930, the metal roofing was the only product available in NZ, used in all areas and building types, mostly based on the needs of farming, wool sheds, milking sheds, boat .....yes ...sheds the roofing is the same if you look at Australian villas, the difference being constructed of brick not wood .
Even the average Kiwi is confused about the cones,.....more cones than Sheep. a modern approach to marketing green NZ...
Definitely not in keeping with the architecture of the area.
Thank you for taking us along on this amazing journey with you! The unique natural beauty and energy of this land were really well expressed through your photos and accounts.
LOL. My thoughts exactly. So weird.
Of course, who doesn’t think of Art Deco when they think of Buellton?!
I don't know who Peter is but he has no eye. I have done 40+ rehabs. I live in one of the best remodels in Montecito. An adaptive reuse of the original SB Polo Club. The fence is as one Arcady owner said, " makes the whole neighborhood look better". The interior has had radical changes. It had been re-imagined as a Cape Cod jumbo beach cottage. The built inside, window seats just make this a livable home and the view is great. I have no financial interest in the property, but hate to see haters comments going unanswered.

Was fascinated to read that Wendy & Eric Schmidt (he of Google CEO fame) had a hand in resuscitating Tri-County. What an excellent use of their philanthropy. Lucky to have them in, and of, our community.
I am thrilled to know that Tri County will continue serving the residents of Santa Barbara! We love the ambiance and quality food products offered by the health conscience owners. Thank you Jaime and your son Jaime Jr. for keeping our favorite store in the neighborhood!
I’m heartbroken. I drive back-and-forth from Santa Barbara to Camarillo and I always look for the red shoe. I can’t believe that beautiful heel was stolen. Hopefully they find the culprit and bring it back. It does need a paint job, however.🫶🏻
Why be so negative? It’s wonderful that it will remain open and that residents will be so close, alas, right on the railroad tracks however.
For what it's worth I'm an architect and call that style you're wondering about "Extruded Gable Modern." It's an "edgy" take on the most simple house form imaginable (think of a kid drawing a house), that has lost its edginess due to so many people doing it.
So happy tri country!!!

The last version appears to have the market almost intact. I think good. I do miss the orange juice machine on the sales floor but I am old.
How cool would it be to have all the overflow of rats, mice, cockroaches and miscellaneous vermin that grocery stores and restaurants attract crawling through your front yard and into your home, eating and reproducing? They will never go hungry again!
VOTE THEM OUT !
i see that big red stiletto literally every saturday going and coming from moore park CA visiting my father who is at a rehabilitation center for those who have suffered a stroke , my boyfriend and grandpa thought i was crazy when i first mentioned it to them until i pointed it out and they seen themselves, i always wonder why and how random of a spot and how id love to have that as a chair!! i really hope it is found and returned!!!
All I'm suggesting is that the sign say "no outlet for cars" or something like that.
Important to leave "no outlet" sign! That dead-end road leads to Butterfly Walkway where motorized ebikers and speeding racing bikes already threaten walkers, joggers and families strolling with children.
11 W Ortega St
Leave the sign "no outlet" as it is. Bikers and walkers will certainly figure it out . No need to promote more traffic in this area.
