Your work is appreciated and something I look forward to! You keep me excited about being a part of the SB community, even after living here over 4 decades. It's not an easy task but I appreciate your balance of humor, factual reporting and keen eye for style, great food and the general comings and goings of SB. Keep it up and thank you!
Good to know!
2709 Vista Oceano is immediately to the north of Nesbitt, and above that is the Pacifica Graduate Institute property that's on the market.
From SBA's Instagram post (likely source of Edhat's article): "San Diego service is returning with two carriers: Alaska starting on April 22, and Southwest starting August 4."
Alaska is adding SBA to SAN not SWA I believe.
That’s Pat Nesbitt’s estate - it’s been on the market for several years.
The property immediately to the north is the Pacifica Graduate Institute, now on the market for $17.9 million .
Horses.
Antique Alley on State Street just found out that they have lost their lease. The guy at the counter said the original owner has retired, and the building is being sold. Moving to another location seemed unlikely to make economic sense as their current lease is affordable and the location ideal.
I do love how the Zillow listing says "A globally recognized private estate bordering the highly prestigious city of Montecito," Did I miss an election on Cityhood?
And on Google Maps, what is the deal with property due north? 2907 Vista Oceano. Giant Gararge? Pavillion. Maybe a wedding and events venue?
Now imagine when they take that same approach for the State St. pedestrian promenade.
Re: rent freeze. City council should consult with the city attorney and brush up on state law before wasting city staff time on a measure that violates state law. Will they also freeze insurance rates? No. Will the freeze utility rates? No. Will they freeze property taxes? No. Will they freeze the rates plumbers/electricians charge to make repairs? No.
Re the Goleta Library. Why does this happen so often. There’s such a hurry to close things to the public (or cut down trees) for projects that are nowhere near ready to start
The same thing is happening at Dwight Murphy baseball field. Kids lost the entire summer and it’s been eight months there too. Nothing has happened at the baseball field except putting up a fence to close it off. I don’t understand why construction can’t be staged to reduce downtime and public resources are allowed to sit idle for so long. Not sure who benefits from this approach but it’s not the public. Why not wait to close stuff until it’s ready to go?
“A heavy/super-heavy launch capability at VSFB offers a strategic advantage to the USSF, enabling the deployment of larger, more capable military satellites and facilitating rapid response missions during national security emergencies. Adding heavy/super-heavy launch capabilities at VSFB enhances resilience, diversifies the government’s portfolio, and accelerates satellite constellation reconstitution due to increased lift capacity,” according to the solicitation
WOW! This obviously has been the plan, all along- confusing Salud Carbajal- someone needs to tell him we see thru his comical “hatred” of Elon Musk- he knows, as we know- the future lies in space and big BOOMS get us there! GO ELON GO!
Ellen is COMING HOME! TDS be damned!
Well said thank you for eloquent comments
Erik: In your last post, you mentioned thoughts of 'how to proceed' or 'add to' your business. With your extensive knowledge of viewing properties and your good sense of what sells and why a property commands an upper or lower price; I would think you could easily add a great service at a very good price as a 'finish design coordinator' working with sellers and agents to perfectly prepare a home for sale. I did this as an independent Designer/Broker for my own listings which I am proud to say always sold quickly and at great prices!!! I had other agents ask me for assistance and input so I know there could be a market for you. Yes, there are stagers but this is having more knowledge of the market to know preparation for the right pricing. Happy to discuss further and might be fun to include Lee.
Lee has my vote for the most amazing 'spiffer-uppers' ever done in Montectio. We can all learn from her design genius!!!
Himalayan Kitchen 400 block of State has closed . Nepali owners moved out of state.
Your promoting donuts and fried chicken! Wow..... Bubba's is awesome. Liberal tunnel vision is bizarre. Go Trump, Go!
Far West guns has been like this for I think over a year? What I've heard was the owner went out of town (possibly for some kind of family emergency?) and just never returned. I live nearby and they've had notices, missed deliveries, etc. posted on their door forever all the while the inside stays untouched. It comes up from time to time on Reddit where I have read people placed orders and were charged for merchandise they never received since the owner went MIA. Customers seemed to think he was a helpful, good guy prior to all of this so it's unclear exactly what happened.

Curious about the Ventura location of Muni. You say The Avenue but...???
If Bubba Gump is thinking about opening there, it's clear they haven't done any market research. I can't imagine it would last long if they actually opened. At least I hope not.
Erik, you are most welcome..... I've been know to do a few of my own"spiffer-uppers".
Interesting- Zookers in Carp is doing a fantastic job with their meat market. Best sandwiches in the area as well.
Be nice if Siteline did some sleuthing on whether Rudy's in Carp is going to re-open after the fire.
