I guess if you would know about prices for California gold gravel and the prep work needed you would not do wrong assumptions...
Agree on staging on spec build, house has a clear full living room and dining room, not sure why they squeezed in that seating corner.
But beautiful finishes and lot of details... I’ve seen different remodels with no attention to details or pride of work.
Ha. You got me on the spec reno. On the other hand, I cannot say enough nice things about that guest house at 700 Mission Canyon. Saw it last weekend. The stone, the original steel casement windows and doors... I’m in love! And it definitely needs updating (and ouch that price) but Padaro is so darling and has a lot of potential. Nothing I love more than classic bones.
The indemnification requirement is not new btw. It’s authorized by code and has been required for years. The City requires it as well, pretty standard.
All I know is that Kevin Moore Architect, which is working on the project, said the building won't be torn down. If anyone knows more, pipe up!
Great to hear! I drove by the Mackenzie market on state street and it seems like it’s all clean. Any information on this spot..?? Would make an amazing coffee house or Restaurant. Anything new you can share with us.?
I've reached out to Barb's. As for 330 State Street (more info on that interesting is project at sitelinesb.com/exciting-changes-proposed-for-a-santa-barbara-landmark, for those of you who don't know what we're talking about), I have no idea. I couldn't get anyone involved to respond, but perhaps I'll have more luck as it progresses.
Will Barbs be available anywhere else? Are they getting their own place? I hope so, their pies are great. Also, do you know what the update is with 330 State Street? I see they have cleared out most of the interior but would love to know when they are trying to open by.
Really diggin' the Chase Drive house. The cactus garden is fabu!
Ha, nice save.
Owner, Alessia Guehr, comes from a very longtime local foodie family. She is the daughter of the famed local restaurateur couple, Norbert Schulz and Brigitte Guehr. (The Nook, Oyster's, Norbert's, Brigitte's)
It was found on Toro Canyon Road?
I'm thinking it may have its origin in the Santa Barbara Summer Solstice parade. An identical red pump was created by Moira Blazie and Hathor Hammett for a Wizard of Oz troupe, back in the mid-90s!
I love seeing it there now. Thank you for the great laugh!
I love that floaty! Too bad we don't have water...nor chlorine for pool action.
Who?
Do you mean Roger Daltrey? ;)
On Cota street, a Jeff Shelton building that is across from Color services and down from Club Alamo on the corner of Garden Street.
hehe. Love it!
Yaas!!!
Wow, impressive! The power of crowd sourcing...what will you tackle next?
Love to get the letter.
Yes. Quite the doorway choices. Yikes.
And, 383-square-foot “whiskey room?"...I'm in.
I saw that construction has resumed at La Sirena
The Café has really yummy sandwiches and a quaint little front and back patio.
Madeline’s in Cambria has surprisingly sophisticated, delicious food.
Still not open, from what I can tell. I looked inside just last night, and the only thing that was different was a quote misattributed to Ben Franklin posted in the window.
