The SB restaurant scene continues its decline from a fine dining destination to "Mediocrity on State". We've lost the best chefs, servers and the best food as SB continues to slip down the demographic and economic ladder to satisfy the unchecked need for cheap tourism tax revenue. Choosing to foster cruise ships, T-shirt shops, cheap tacos and beer halls over fine dining and high end clientele.
Great work SB CoC! Maybe if the CoC was populated with actual entrepreneurs and business owners instead of real estate agents, accountant, lawyers and corporate hotel chain middle managers, the city might actually grow instead of shrink in every measure but the number of bums and fees & taxes...
its C-H-R-I-S-T-I-N-E dear.
"Videos Show Karen Jones and Husband Inside Capitol Building During Attack"
How could any reasonable person have thought that it is was a good idea to enter the Capitol, past police barricades and Capitol Police in riot gear?
Willful ignorance of the facts doesn't make you right. It shows your stubbornness, cristine.
Secondly, why would those who claim to want a smaller government take the cowardly way out and wait for the FBI to use their resources to find them and charge them. Patriots would admit to their crimes and suffer the consequences willingly.
That was my first response.
My second:
Errr, I'm with Kyle...
I missed the part if the article where they did anything but show up- can you show me where they were arrested and why?
I’ll be waiting right here while you find that info,
☕️
+1 for Revolver
Cristine,
If nothing questionable happened on January 6th at the Capitol, merely stating they attended wouldn't be smearing.
The fact that you rushed in here to defend them means that there was something highly inappropriate, even seditious that occurred. My question is why aren't you willing to hold the people of your community, or government officials accountable for their choices? It is a absolute disgrace to those who DIED because of that day.
Christine!
Would it be OK with you if I followed a crowd who broke into her business and stood by as they attacked her employees and trashed the place?
What ever happened to the concept of personal responsibility for those on the "right"?
If you check the ingredients you will see why one pizza on the menu is $ 65.00.... it contains truffles ( why you would truffles on a pizza is beyond me but that adds $$ to the cost). Most of the pizzas are in the $ 30.00 range. I for one am anxious to try the " non pizza items as I'm not a pizza fan. I welcome any new restaurant, especially non chains, to Santa Barbara.
If all they did was attend the rally they would be in the clear, but entering the capitol with the other seditionists makes their anti- democracy intent pretty clear. What a pair of (sore) losers.
That she went to THAT rally says oodles about her character. Especially her judgement,
Their $65 pizza must be the most expensive pizza in SB.
The chocolate pistachios are Sold Out ?
keep it classy Kyle- your post says oodles about your character??
FisHouse restaurant parking lot entrance on Anacapa.
Christine - you’re an idiot.
I’m unaware of the owners, but I do like the concept of an all women owned and operated winery and I’ll support that. Kris Curran as an outstanding winemaker. Don’t let two bad apples bring down the others involved. In fact, I’ll visit the tasting room this weekend and provide my honest and unbiased reviews.
There are few truly legit pie joints in SB. Revolver sits at the top and a few fall below. I’m all for these people opening and serving world class pizza.
Or even better, get your juice from Juice Ranch!
January 6th was NOT a rally.
? I see no evidence of her or her husband hurling a brick into a crowd, I see no evidence of her wearing a ski mask hitting another human with a fortified stick nor does she look armed with much more than her voice.
But ok
She attacked Congress. If you think that’s acceptable, feel free to get your news from the News-Press.
Karen Jones and her family host a music party every year coinciding with Old Santa Ynez Days- well stocked with talent and people come far & wide to get a seat near the stage. She and her husband went to a political rally, and you are reporting she attended? Wow
Katy Perry’s father stood next to me at the Vote 4 Larry Elder SB courthouse sunken garden event last year- he is pretty funny even if he looks like he fell off the Liberace Palm Springs tram.
Sad that people in charge ( Ms Partridge ) think smearing people is cool due to their vote- worse that I have to re-read it here.
You’d probably like Karen, Erik- consider buying her a coffee at Pony Espresso next time your up in cowboy country
"I feel Santa Barbara is becoming more like LA and losing its soul. This is a prime example." I could not agree more, Dr. D.
I'm in favor of reimagining flailing or failed or undeveloped spaces, but this is just sad. This is the destruction of something thriving.
I don't think you interpreted my comment correctly, Cheri. Christine Z accused me of being snooty. I did not make "unkind judgement about folks I do not know" - that was Christine Z who thinks supporting the local business owners of Las Aves is "snooty" because she is a "lifetime Santa Barbaran" who doesn't know her town very well. She seems to be in the minority in not seeming to care about Las Aves. From the comments I see here, most locals are not pleased LA-based developers are taking over a well loved and seemingly very successful collection of locally owned and operated businesses and giving them the boot in favor of expensive non-local corporate retail.
if chemicals leaked there while the shop was serving the general public, the city/state would require them to clean it regardless of who is trying to lease it.
