Hook & Press’s New Space Is Finally Ready

••• Matty’s Hot Chicken is back at the Santa Barbara Public Market, it’s now open five days a week (Thursday through Monday), noon to 3 p.m. and 5pm till it sold out.

••• Hook & Press‘s new space on E. Figueroa, just past State, is finally ready: the grand opening is next weekend, April 16 and 17, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stay tuned for the new menu, which should extend beyond doughnuts.

••• Sevtap Winery‘s tasting room on E. Canon Perdido has closed (via Edible Santa Barbara).

••• According to the Montecito Journal, Milt and Arlene Larsen are trying to reopen their Magic Castle Cabaret at 30 Los Patos Way “but are having permit trouble.”

••• Kunin Wines‘s new tasting room, in the former Frequency space next to the Cheese Shop, has soft-opened.

••• Taking a page from the Bell’s playbook, Full of Life Flatbread in Los Alamos took some nasty graffiti and turned them into a pizza and T-shirts—and the latter have sold like hotcakes.

We ate at Sevtap a few days before they closed their doors. The owner said they will be doing some pop ups around town. So please keep your eyes open for them and let’s show them our support. They are a wonderful family!
