Just so we're all clear: I am not a real estate agent, and I have no financial interest in whether a property sells. When I write about a listing, my goal is to help readers—including potential buyers—see the property as clearly as possible. And as for my tone, I'll quote Shirley Jackson: If you don't like my peaches, don't shake my tree.
Pretty sure the only time he's getting paid to help sell a house is when he runs an ad for a realtor. Other than that his posts are purely informational - with a healthy heaping of fairly funny snark.
So many businesses dropping out of Santa Ynez- Queen Cup Coffee, The General, Lucky Hen Larder, Asher, Brass Tack, now Cross Hatch- I predict businesses that serve the residents of the Valley vs the visitors makes a strong comeback. Like Buellton, SY has regular folks with regular needs, and those needs are not being met currently….the Valley business shortcomings are a constant topic on facebook- a yogurt shop serving coffee with play area for kids? A goldmine!
The restrictions also only apply to projects with a planning permit, because the restriction is not an ordinance, rather it's a policy that gets applied as a condition on planning permits. Projects that don't require a planning permit, such as ADUs and other things that only require building permits or no permits at all, do not have conditions applied to them so the restrictions don't exist for those projects.
Me too. It was such a bad decision to close it.
Thank you for copying and pasting from the article I just read.
Really missing Stella Mare
That's his job? Since when?
Asana has ~$8 billion in assets under management. Given the jaw dropping figure and their current portfolio, expect chains like Warby Parker. Not exactly Montecito/SB vibes
I primarily read this for the snarky comments
Amen! After what they did to the prior tenants, not to mention the gym and Stella Mares
From everything I’ve read, the State of California did not grant a penny toward this street art project. The $100k grant is from the Bloomberg Foundation.
With Runyon selling The Post, do we know if they are going to continue to develop “Platform” on the SE corner at Garden and E Yanonali?
We stand with Delores Huerta (co-founder of United Farmworkers). As a Pasadena teenager active during the early days of the Grape Boycott, I wanted to move up to Delano to help organize the national boycott. I guess I am lucky that my parents wouldn’t let me drop out of high school. Chavez was a hero to me until the NYT report came out this week. I was proud to see his name in Santa Barbara. No longer.
Good riddance Runyan Group! We will not miss you. Hoping the new owner keeps the Montecito/SB vibe despite maybe bringing in bigger-name businesses. Start with ditching Shoppe Amber Interiors, aka Sorority Asinine Interiors. We want friendly, not annoying.
One note, the Montecito Assoc. has those hours/days correct -except- that it is for Noise Generating construction. So if workers are painting, cleaning up, or doing other work that does not cause noise, they can work outside those hours.
I didn’t notice any snarky comments Carol, just some observations. I don’t think any house is perfect and I don’t believe Erik is a real estate agent.
He is being helpful to buyers!
It is not necessary nor helpful to the seller to make snarky comments. Stick to being helpful in getting a house sold. After all, isn’t that your job?
The Routine, a Pilates studio currently in Ventura, is opening at the Victor the Florist space. Instagram page: @theroutine.vta
We loved our experience at Kismet Kids! A great haircut - kids were entertained while waiting their turn. Such a welcome addition to Montecito / Summerland - more kids activities!
I didn’t see your comment before I posted. Great idea!
How about renaming Calle Cesar Chavez to Calle Dolores Huerta?
Is it on lower state street next to the (previous) Fiesta 5 theater…
It's nice the city got $100,000 for this street art project. I'm a gardener, working mostly in the Funk Zone and wow, what I could do with that down here! Am I the only one that notices the plants and trees at the State street ($11mil) 101 underpass look sad? Seriously, Eleven Million Dollars. The planters look awful for that amount of money. But back to this post, I don't understand spending another $100k on a tile/art project on State street. (I know, it't a grant from the state of CA,. . .)
