Unfinished Montecito Mansion Sells for Just Under $60 Million

The seller paid $10 million in 2012 and tore down the 8,651-square-foot house, replacing it with the shell of a new structure—12,678-square-foot main house and guest house on 5.84 acres—that was described as “the opportunity to complete a legacy estate. (Somehow I missed it when it came on the market.) Here’s hoping the new owner keeps the amazing fence at the street, a bit of which is on this property (the other parts are along 2920 Sycamore Canyon Road and 1144 Alston Road).
