1910 Gardener’s Cottage on the Market for the First Time

The week’s notable new listings….

The 1910 house for the Arcady estate’s gardener, 3116 Eucalyptus Hill Road ($3.895 million), is on the market for the first time. There’s charm everywhere—look at those wood floors!—but the acre of land appears to be mostly slope.

················

Renovated contemporary 26 Celine Drive ($3.995 million), off N. Ontare Road, has a brawny appeal, but I’m unconvinced by the finishes. P.S. What was the thinking behind that last room? Or the wall by the front door?

················

The five-acre Hope Ranch lot at 4625 Via Carretas ($5.995 million) has amazing views, but the 1937 house looks like a serious fixer, or even a teardown.

················

The 1957 house at 947 Arcady Road ($3.45 million) went pending immediately, presumably because it’s not easy to find a decent five-bedroom house for this price in this area. That said, the bathrooms are rather idiosyncratic.

················

The listing for 1556 La Vista Road ($4.395 million) says it’s “close to Upper State Street,” which is true in a relative sense, the rest of the city being even farther away. The house is 6,000 square feet, with lots of levels.

················

And a few others worth checking out:
••• 1024 E. Canon Perdido Street ($1.595 million): Three-bedroom house off the street in Agave Court (dunno).
••• 210 Las Alturas Road ($2.85 million): Swell views but it’s hard to look at and it needs new everything.
••• 189 Hermosillo Drive ($2.495 million): 1937 house with charm stripped away once the years, but the harder sell is the location right on Hot Springs Road.
