••• Chef David Rosner, who grew up working in pizzerias before heading into the world of fine dining—including at the University Club, The Monarch, and Wine Cask—is opening Rozzi Pizza at 233 W. Montecito Street, also home to Wingman Rodeo. “Dudley Michael made room for me to move in and fulfill my dream,” says Rosner. The pizza is New York–style, some by the slice and some by the pie, and there will also be four or five salads. Look for it to debut in a couple of weeks.
••• Tri-County Produce “will continue under new ownership, after the previous owner last month said the business was going to close. Longtime employee Jaime Desales Sr., along with his son, Jaime Desales Jr., will step in to lead the produce market into its next chapter.” —Noozhawk

••• I finally got around to trying Revolver‘s breakfast sandwich, only available on Sundays. (Keep an eye on Instagram or here to see whether they’re being offered, what the options are, and whether you can preorder.) I had the ham, egg, and cheese one, and it was pretty special, although my personal preference is for a toasted roll.

I read that the developers are putting an apartment building right behind Tri-County Produce. How cool would it be to have a grocery store in your front yard? Never go hungry again!
How cool would it be to have all the overflow of rats, mice, cockroaches and miscellaneous vermin that grocery stores and restaurants attract crawling through your front yard and into your home, eating and reproducing? They will never go hungry again!
Why be so negative? It’s wonderful that it will remain open and that residents will be so close, alas, right on the railroad tracks however.
The last version appears to have the market almost intact. I think good. I do miss the orange juice machine on the sales floor but I am old.

Was fascinated to read that Wendy & Eric Schmidt (he of Google CEO fame) had a hand in resuscitating Tri-County. What an excellent use of their philanthropy. Lucky to have them in, and of, our community.
