The Former Les Marchands Space Is Now a Cocktail Bar

October 23, 2019|by Erik Torkells

••• The former Les Marchands space in the Funk Zone will become a cocktail bar. From the Restaurant Guy: “Pearl Social, an intimate cocktail and music bar, is opens in November at 131 Anacapa Street, between The Lark and the Santa Barbara Wine Collective. A cocktail menu is available online at pearlsocialsb.com.” The music lineup looks intriguing—this town needs more jazz—and if it’s accurate, the place soft-opens tonight. There’s no mention anywhere of food.

••• “Rumors are swirling on Facebook that the iconic Enterprise Fish Co, at 225 State Street, is being sold. I called the eatery and was told the staff has not been informed of a sale, and that only the GM can discuss that topic.” —Restaurant Guy

••• The revolving door continues to spin at the Public Market: Soul Cal Smokehouse has closed and Wabi Sabi Sushi Bar has opened. —Restaurant Guy (here and here)

••• The recent rash of restaurant closings should really make us appreciate the good ones and the effort that goes into making them. From Bettina: “Somehow, someway next Tuesday, October 29, will mark one full year in business for us. To honor you and all of your support, we will be be offering complimentary spritzes all day and night next Tuesday. Resis available [here]; last resi at 8 p.m. since we will be closing a bit early to party with our staff! Stay tuned for detes on our one year anniversary block party on November 9.”

••• Work by Caro Clarke will be featured at Café Ana on (or maybe starting?) the First Thursdays event on November 7. The print she did of the café is wonderful. (And check out this beautiful piece.)
