Great news: After first deciding to close nine blocks of State Street—from Haley to Sola—just for the Memorial Day weekend, the city of Santa Barbara has extended the experiment through August. There’s no word yet on how the street might be divided to keep pedestrians and bicyclists from getting in each other’s way, or exactly how much space on the street a restaurant can grab for tables.
