Starbucks Is Opening on a Prominent Corner

••• H. sends word of an Indonesian-food delivery service called SoCal Indo Food that comes to the Santa Barbara area on the fourth Sunday of every month. You order through a Google document, and the food looks delicious…. Above: nasi campur ayam bumbu rujak, mixed rice with sweet-and-spicy coconut sauce chicken.

••• The former Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at State Street and De La Vina is being turned into a Starbucks, according to the agenda for the next meeting of the city’s Board of Architectural Review.

••• Meanwhile, some folks who know from coffee say that Queen Cup Coffee, which opened at the Lucky Hen Larder in Santa Ynez in January, is the real deal.

••• Santo Mezcal is now serving breakfast daily, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Here’s the menu.

••• From Third Window Brewing: “If you have an orange tree with ripe oranges in your yard—bring them into the brewery. We’ll zest and juice them and trade you a bottle of our chocolate orange stout made with Twenty-Four Blackbirds cocoa nib when it’s released in May.” The brewery is accepting oranges through the weekend, and then “there will be another call for oranges in a few weeks for subsequent editions.”

••• Chicken-wing restaurant Wingman Rodeo has opened at 5892 Hollister Avenue in Goleta (across the street from Old Town Coffee).

••• Bettina‘s new pizza is decidedly worth trying: mozzarella, raclette, asparagus, braised leeks, spring garlic, cream, sherry, and crispy leek tops.

Glad a coffee shop is going into the old Coffee Bean space. I always loved stopping by for a cuppa when I was coming back from Trader Jose’s.

Interesting Indonesian food delivery. The photos are drool worthy.
