Nope, but I'll ask around. And if anyone out there has heard anything—this is about the 265-acre lot known as 0 More Mesa on the market for $50 million—let me know at [email protected] or 917-209-6473. All tips are confidential.
Have you heard anything about More Mesa? I’m a lot more concerned about that than the foothills and it’s getting zero news coverage that I can find. The listing went pending this week.
Great space, pawrific drinks and excellent customer service! I took a photo fur you but didn’t know where to send it. Px
Two of my favorite restaurants in town through the ages.... Brigitte's and Norbert's!
The History behind the Tea Gardens is fascinating, isn't it!
I tried the Parks & Recreation Department three or four times about Plaza De Vera Cruz and got nowhere, so I gave up. And that made me wary of even trying re: the splash playground (along with the fact that the department is hurting for funding because of the pandemic and so presumably the project is backburnered). I'll try again—maybe it'll help if they know someone actually reads this site.
Any idea when they expect to start/finish the splash pool? Also, did the city ever get back to you regarding when they expect to wrap up Plaza De Vera Cruz park?
"glamour puss on Pepper Hill" LOL.
Yes, keep 'em coming - sooo funny! The "Monistat 7" gets extra points!!

Looks great. Can’t wait to check it out!
I understand and actually appreciate how you do your thing. But regarding 975 Mariposa, if you did your homework, you’d see comparisons of the condition of the house when purchased in 2019, on top of the immense updates and changes (upgrades) to the property and also note that the house was put into contract back in august of 2018 following a fire and debris flow that found most not able to sell or purchase property due to no insurers wanting to insure property here, or no one wanting to buy or sell because of the events that just happened earlier that year. But love your site!
Nightmare inducing.
LOVE Jane's use of colour in her work, but I don't know if I could live in that house! Wow!
Big Yellow House no longer Yellow? Oh, man. That is sacrilegious.
I loved working at El Encanto from 1991 to 2001 as the head gardener. However, since it was sold to a multi-national corporation it's never been the same. Now it's owned by Louis Vuitton but they still use the Belmond name. And they bring in a new chef from Toronto?? Like they couldn't find one locally??? Eye roll, sheesh. . .
I agree with you. I'd like to see it turned into a more formal green oasis. It would be great to have restaurants opening onto the space and to make everything one level and remove cars. But removing green for more hardscaping doesn't do it for me. How about a formal park? We're really missing one downtown. There's an issue around that that I won't bring up as it's a whole other can of worms, but in my dream world DLG Plaza would be a lush and romantic park for people to sit in and read, relax, and people watch. I have Lutah Maria Riggs's plans for the plaza, which I think she proposed in the '70s. I'll review them but I think she called for something similar and included a central fountain (that wasn't a splash pad of course!). Love Lutah!
I laughed aloud, too! It was a hilarious way of pointing out a real issue and I for one appreciate pithy and entertaining commentary like this. And on the same page with regards to the revisions. It's better. I feel comfortable saying that. But I'm far from in love.
Heard of the first amendment? Who is this attacking? Ashamed of pointing out the obvious? Please clarify
A little too cold and uninviting for my tastes. Not a fan of the "spider" looking lamps hanging from the ceiling. Your observation on visitors is a bit spot on, unfortunately.
"where apparently only white people will gather." This made me laugh out loud, this observation unfortunately is very on point and represents what I believe to be some of the bigger issues involved with these developments. Slightly encouraged by the revisions but still have my personal reservations.
You should speak with the board of old WHITE MEN who approve or deny all of the buildings that go up in this town and control the “look” of Santa Barbara.
