I don’t think it’s bizarre at all. Hugette’s father taught her to be wary of gold digging strangers. After her sister, dad, mom died, she basically withdrew from life. Her dolls (yes weird) always brought her comfort, but IMO cats & dogs would have been more rewarding companions for her.
The bike lanes on State Street are overdue- wonderful! One should also be concerned whether there will be adequate signage so that tourists will be cognizant of bike paths and not continue to blindly and suddenly step into the street. The Santa Monica beach bike path has similar issues and it’s stressful for even the most conscientious bicyclists.
I do hope that is the result- if the business changes hands, it remains the same or similar- there is always room for improvement…just don’t change the sandwiches or breads.
The building and the business are both for sale, separately. I don't typically mention when businesses are for sale (although I'm sure there have been exceptions), because the fear is that people will frequent them less, even though they may take a long time to sell (or never sell at all). Realistically, pretty much every business is for sale, for the right price.
And even if a business does end up with new owners, it may not change in substantive ways—in which case the change of ownership isn't especially noteworthy.
Yeah, I was wondering the same. @ Christine! The building is for sale. I haven't heard anything about the business. Was surprised when I received the LoopNet notification. Here's the listing: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/216-E-Yanonali-St-Santa-Barbara-CA/29402206
Show me the proof!
18 dollars for a sandwich lmao
What about Metropolous being for sale?
So happy Mollies has reopened in Carpinteria...
Can't wait to see her! ❤️
Bean-about is funny ; )
My daughter hit up KIN this am- and said the black sesame seed cream coffee and POG donut was amazing. Kind staff and worth every penny was her report!
Thank you for clarifying about Validation Ale.
I think Third Window has been using the old Wildwood Kitchen for a few months. They now serve their smashburger’s during the week also and everything comes out of the kitchen faster. Love their patio and love the avocado jalapeño burger.
The “veranda” has always been available if there is no event in what used to called the “Wine Cellar “ it is even more charming than the patio for the Plow and Angel. It is right next to the P&A patio ( the P&A side has a fountain the other a fireplace- same structure)
The SY roundabout is not round but shaped like a kidney bean. Can we please refer to it as a beanabout?
No, not at all disappointed that there are no vegan options.
I don’t understand why people. ( Jenna & healthy living ) think that just because they want something they should get it.
Like I said before if you feel so strongly about this why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and start a restaurant that offers all this amazing product you speak of??
I swear these people that think the world revolves around them.
F.
Pizza at the nook. Great! The name coukd also be THE PIZZA NOOK!
Sorry/Correction: Fatte's Pizza is still open. It was SB Woodfired Pizza that closed.
Seems odd to offer pizza next to a pizza joint.
Erik Torkells August 28, 2023: The Validation Ale folks say that “Currently we have about 2300sqft plus a small patio at the corner facing los agaves. It’s about two-thirds of the old Chinese restaurant.”
The Chinese restaurant didn't have a patio, though. Maybe they're converting some parking spots? Seems odd, as I think that's a loading zone?
"Full kitchen with the favorites from HQ along with a full pizza operation.”"
So they're taking over the pizza location that was on the corner and is now closed?
Hi Jenna. Try Hip Vegan in Ojai. Many options.
Hi Jenna
I totally agree. Asking for SYV to actually showcase all the wonderful produce grown there seems reasonable to me. Offering vegan options has nothing to do with the percent of vegans in the world. Many non-vegans are also trying to eat healthier and will order vegan meals. The world would surely be a better place if people ate a more plant based diet.
We own the Balboa Building and Banana Republic loves the space and their sales numbers are back to pre pandemic levels. Athleta is the one leaving the building and not renewing their lease.
Banana Republic is doing well and will continue at 735 State Street.
Athleta isn’t renewing their lease
The pedestrian setup in Boulder is only two blocks long while ours is 11. Boulder also has about a 25% larger population. We simply don't have enough residents and tourists to sustain an 11 block pedestrian promenade.
