Dear Erik, I enjoy your photos from your walking tours, and I'm sorry you weren't able to experience a tasting at Goleta Red! I hope you'll do the Westside sometime; there are so many interesting things to see. I'd be happy to accompany you. I'm talking the area between Victoria, San Andres, Mission, and Calle Poinente.

Bravo to the return of Jim Buckley. He boldly challenges government leaders to get to the root of problems that never go away.
He also cut down all of the trees at Sandpiper Golf Course. Seems like Ty has an issue with trees. It’s very sad to see them all gone on the course.
at least Jim Buckley knows Goleta butters SB's toast......
You tell ‘em, Dan.
I'm happy to see Jim Buckley show up. He gave me a life changing break as publisher of MJ, but's that another story. I liked the look of the old MJ better, the ink was darker and the type was bigger. And yes as Sam says, I'm a older white guy but I'm a gardener, not a rich old guy. . . .
You can read Andy Caldwell and not have to listen to his voice.
Aware of the sale and future participation aspect, just this proposal does seem out of sync with the continued operation of the grocery so far
The owner of Tri-County Produce is one of the developers of the new building.
This appears to me a step back from acknowledging and or embracing the grocer aspect of the design. I do think it is a trick to do but not impossible. Another concern is post construction the grocery will not return. Out of mind, out of habit.
Buckley is the epitome of the American libertarian. Basically a house cat. Completely dependent on others and a system they cant fathom, but fully convinced of their own independence and abilities... I read his opening opine for this new 'blog'. Sure enough it wouldn't be a Buckley without a mention of his savior and saint, Ronald Reagan. Our first reality TV POTUS, but sadly not our last... Buckley sure does love his revisionist history, doesnt he? This cadre of fine folk are real, actual Selfawarewolves. However I for one am happy to have them in the discord. After all, what's funnier than wealthy middle/old aged white guys complaining about how hard it is to be a wealthy middle aged/older white guy in a society ruled by wealthy middle aged/older white guys?
Montecito Journal was painful to read under the previous editor/publisher. His long written diatribes in letters to the editor section was almost comical. A much more enjoyable and sane publication now.
This has been going on since post Thomas fire. The eucalyptus were overgrown back then and were totally burned after the fire. They intend to build a garden. The MTF intends to re-route the trail on LP land to avoid the cutbacks that erode currently.
Hi the quirky fence on Haley is made by David Shelton and pays homage to the tortilla factory that was once there. Many flying tortillas on that fence… Love your walks and commentary. Carla Lejade ElZapatoSB.com

Erik - thanks for the witty commentary on this seemingly bland Goleta industrial zone. Enjoyed the company insights you shared as well as those from your reader comments.
Who knows? There's no point in asking, because if the airline is planning on reinstating service, it'll wait to announce the plan when it suits them.
I know they are planning on building a new spa in that area. The current "spa" is more like a sad joke and Ty Warner seems to be keenly aware of the competition the Miramar presents.
The new Speakeasy is terrible. Take Wildcat, Regal Beagle from Three's Company, the dreadful predecessor to Benchmark Eatery, Maggies on State with it's gaudy everything, smush them together, remove the food except for caviar and you've got Ty Warner's disastrous new idea. He did a great job modernizing the Ranch after the fire and mudslide, but this was truly the opposite of a slam dunk and once again Ty Warner proves he is truly a clown. His lack of restauranteur experience has introduced somewhat of a circus of features and menu items at the Ranch. So long to the cozy nights at the Plow sharing comfort food with neighbors and a nice bottle of wine. So long to one of the great local favorites. I'll say it again, Ty Warner is a clown.
Will United ever reinstate direct flights to ORD?
Longboard's/Harbor Restaurant.
Above the market at the harbor.
Madame, my mother is a police lady named Karen and your slurring against her as ain officer of the law and her beautiful name is deeply offensive.
….locally sourced @santabarbrah
They’re at you’re house. Open the door babe.
Wow, call the 'Karen Police' because this guy really wants to play the 'DiScRiMiNaTiOn" card? OKAY, Then.
