Mate Gallery Sale at Today’s Purge & Splurge Vintage Show

••• Mate Gallery in the Montecito Country Mart is getting rid of surplus merch at today’s Purge & Splurge Vintage Show at the Ventura County Fairgrounds (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

••• An update from Caltrans on the Highway 101 work underway in Carp: “The new northbound Highway 101 on-ramp at Linden Avenue is scheduled to open next week. Traffic will also move over to the recently completed side of the Casitas Pass Overcrossing, and freeway lanes will shift for the next stage of work. After lanes are shifted on the Casitas Pass Overcrossing, crews will remove the temporary walkway and begin constructing sidewalks and the new safety barrier on the east side of the bridge.”

••• The house at 1491 Edgecliff Lane, right above Hammonds Beach in Montecito, sold for $17,888,000. It was first listed for $25 million in March of 2018, with the most recent price being $19 million.

••• After two pharmacy break-ins, the Montecito Association wondered aloud whether to add a private security patrol: “Should we look at hiring a private patrol service for Montecito? We have a great working relationship with the Sheriff, who polices our area, and SBPD, that handles Coast Village Rd. We also work with CHP as they patrol 192 and the 101. Do we need to bolster our security? We would have to find a way to pay for it, if the community wants increased patrols.”

••• From the City of Santa Barbara: “About 100 community members met at a Listening Workshop on October 1 to identify needs and desires for the future of the Milpas Street corridor. It’s not too late to provide your input about walking, biking, traffic, and lighting on Milpas. Take the survey by November 15.
