Construction on Three New Roundabouts Should Start in Coming Months

••• According to the recent mailer about Highway 101 progress, roundabout construction will start this summer at Los Patos Way (summer), this fall at Olive Mill Road, and this winter San Ysidro Road. Above: the most recent rendering I’ve seen of the Los Patos one. Here’s hoping all the red street/sidewalk markings don’t make it to reality.

••• Commercial real estate agent Caitlin Hensel reports that E-Bikery is moving from State Street to 590 E. Gutierrez (at the corner of Salsipuedes), most recently home of Total Heating, Air & Fireplaces (and three times as large).

••• Suzanne Vega plays the Lobero on September 28. Here’s my favorite song of hers, with a classic opening line: “On the way to the bidet is when the trouble used to start.” It’s about Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner, who fought as hard as they loved.

••• Something is up at the former Victor the Florist space at Santa Barbara and Anapamu: the “for lease” sign is gone, and workers have been spotted inside. Anyone know more?

••• Up now at Marcia Burtt Gallery: a group show called Sea and Summit. Love the clouds in Marilee Krause’s “East Mountain Drive.”

••• Architecture firm Cearnal Collective posted a bunch of new renderings of the forthcoming SBPD headquarters at Santa Barbara and Cota, including these:

••• While I was poking around Cearnal’s website, I came across renderings of a bunch of other projects in the On the Boards section. Such as: new angles on the 250-room hotel at Garden Street and E. Yanonali (more on that one here):

And the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara’s 48-unit affordable-housing project at 200 N. La Cumbre:

And there’s something labeled only Country Club Pool & Fitness Center, which looks like it must be Birnam Wood. Update 6/23: The images were apparently not supposed to be released, so I’ve removed them.
