••• Live the dream! “The Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters office is looking for volunteers to serve as poll workers for the March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election. Poll workers who work at a polling place receive a stipend of $180 to $240 for Election Day and to attend training. ••• If your New Year’s resolution includes learning something new, consider the workshops at Heritage Goods & Supply in Carp. Coming up: embroidery, home-brewing kombucha, facial self-massage, baking sourdough bread, and watercolor still-life painting.

••• Press release: “SoCal Museums announces the 15th Annual Museums Free-for-All on Saturday, January 25. Over 40 museums—presenting art, cultural heritage, natural history, and science—will open their doors and invite visitors to attend free of charge. Locally, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, both members of SoCal Museums, will participate in offering free admission. In the case of SBMNH, free admission is for the museum only, not the Sea Center. The Santa Barbara Historical Museum is also participating as an affiliate member.”

••• Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin’s otherworldly-and-underwordly Pepper Hill house appears to be coming along. They’re put up a higher fence—gee, wonder why…—but peeks are still possible. Click that link to see renderings of the finished building.
