A Sweet Little Slice of Montecito

In lieu of an open-house roundup—which haven’t started up again yet—here are some noteworthy properties that have just come on the market.

Here’s one to fall in love with: the very pretty 1845 E. Mountain Drive ($6.85 million) in Montecito, “near the San Ysidro Ranch.” (Technically accurate, but you’d have to leap the creek.) The 1994 house has been recently renovated; it’s right on trend without being too much of the moment. The last photo is of the guest house, originally the former Park Estate’s horse barn.

The price of 1639 Fernald Point Lane ($9.9 million) is all about the location—one house from Miramar Beach, and right on the Posilipo Lane beach path. If the house were anywhere else, it wouldn’t be remarkable, but thanks to the gap created by the arroyo, the views are delightful.

The “Italian villa” at 330 E. Mountain Drive ($3.15 million) has good views, if you don’t mind power lines and some intense details. Those fireplaces….

Just off Salinas, 1411 Carpinteria Street ($795,000) is a neat 1921 Craftsman house with period flair intact. It’s tiny, though: 1,346 square feet, two bedrooms, one bath.
