A Little Free Library, But With Art

••• A house I’m fond of (though I haven’t seen it in person), 1930 Emerson Avenue, is back on the market for $2.6 million, down $95,000 from last fall.

••• El Capitan Beach is slated to get “a new park entry kiosk and bathroom, entry road improvements, and new bridge,” according to the agenda for last week’s Central Board of Architectural Review meeting.

••• Artist Michael Long, whose dive bar dioramas were featured here recently, has a new project at 435 E. Pedregosa: “a community curated art gallery much like a free library, one takes art and leaves art. It will be installed by the 20th of February. Grand opening to be announced.” Love the little bench.

••• Pura Luna Apothecary‘s new space at 633 Chapala (Ortega/Cota) has soft-opened.

••• I stopped by Idyll Mercantile, the new plants-and-more shop on Chapala, next to Lighthouse Coffee and Kanaloa Seafood. I was delighted to meet the owner, Hannah, who was delighted to meet me, because a bunch of folks had come in saying they had read about the shop on Siteline, which doubled my delight. It’s a sweet little shop; check it out.
