The Miramar Resort Is Said to Be Opening a Sushi Bar

••• I had a terrific meal at Bar Le Côte the other night—the scallop crudo with pickled mushrooms, crème fraîche, and dill pollen (above) is a must—and, in the process, I learned that the restaurant will soon launch a Wednesday happy hour with raw bar and drink specials from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Moreover, we can expect lunch service to debut sometime in April or May. (Photo by John Troxell because mine looked like mush.) Related: Bar Le Côte and its sibling Bell’s were included in a New York Times article about restaurants that don’t have phones.

••• Something intriguing is cooking at Uncorked WineTasting & Kitchen on E. Haley: “I can’t wait to show you what we have planned for Uncorked in March of 2022,” posted co-owner Michael Amador. “Wine club members are going to have first access to the next most exciting dinner experience coming to Santa Barbara.” That was after explaining how he had just cooked 120 three-course dinners. Could Uncorked be moving toward a set menu?

••• Unofficial word is that the forthcoming restaurant at the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort, in what are currently guest rooms near the gym, will be a sushi bar.

••• A new-to-me home-baking business: Milk Belly Bakery in Goleta. Pictured: “purple sweet Mochi porridge loaf and buttermilk bread.”

••• Bob and Ellie Patterson of Here’s the Scoop on Coast Village Road have sold the ice cream shop to a Montecito resident “who wishes to be out of the spotlight” and who “brought on ice cream expert Gabriel Sundholm to manage the shop” [….] “The plan is for the store and its offerings to stay relatively the same.” —Montecito Journal

••• The Independent profiled Carp Kitchen & Grocery.

••• Finally, a look at what to expect for the former Mackenzie Market building at 3102 State Street, to be discussed at the February 7 meeting of the city’s Architectural Board of Review: based on the submitted plans, it will be a restaurant called Teddy’s on State (the owners also own Teddy’s By the Sea in Carpinteria), and it’ll have a large outdoor dining area.

I’ve been to the teddy’s in carpinteria and i love it and it’s my kids favorite restaurant. I love their fish tacos & the cedar plank salmon I also love their prickly pear margarita it’s the best margarita I have ever tried and believe me I’ve tried many.
Can’t wait for them to open in San roque because I live about 2.5 blocks away.

Hi Erik, I was just at Teddy’s this weekend and I must share with you if you have not made it out to Carpinteria you should do yourself a favor and try Teddy’s out. I have been going since they opened. My mom lives in Carpinteria so I’m out theee a few times a week. This is by far the best restaurant in Carpinteria and in my options of the best restaurant in Santa Barbara. I love sitting on one of their patios with a margarita in one hand and a fish taco on the other hand. Can’t wait for the new Teddy’s as its much closer to my house. Take care and thank you for your contributions to our community.

Does anyone know if they are planning on the same concept as their restaurant in Carpinteria or will it be different.? I love their concept in Carpinteria I’m just trying to get more information as I was one of the fools that was not able to close my escrow on this jewel of property and I also live in San Roque.
