Courtyard vs. Penthouse at the Villas at Olive Mill

A lineup of all of this weekend’s open houses can be found at sbopenhouses.com, courtesy the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors. Here are five of the most intriguing ones:

It’s compare-and-contrast time at the Villas at Olive Mill, a.k.a. the Apartments at Olive Mill and Coast Village Road, where two of the five units will be open. 105 Olive Mill Road ($3.1 million, pictured directly above) is a 2,200-square-foot courtyard-level unit with two bedrooms and two baths. 109 Olive Mill Road ($5 million, pictured at top) is a 2,770-square-foot duplex penthouse with three bedrooms, three full baths, two half baths, and a three-car garage with private elevator. / Open Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

655 Coyote Road ($2.25 million) is at the corner of Sycamore Canyon Road, but at least it’s up a knoll on a 2.8-acre lot. The three-bedroom, two-bath house has nice character, including “hand-distressed eucalyptus wood floors.” According to the listing, the metal sculpture by Michael Todd is part of the deal. You can catch a glimpse of it under the palm tree in the photo above. / Open Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

A 1914 house rebuilt in 2004, 822 Jimeno Road ($2.995 million) has Lower Riviera views and some charming old-house quirks, including access from both Jimeno and Grand Avenue, with a bonus single-car garage on Grand. / Open Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

···················

The 1958 three-bedroom, two-bath house at 830 Summit Road ($1.949 million) is nicely situated off the road. It’s a project, though. / Open Saturday, 1-4 p.m.

An 85-acre ranch north of Lake Casitas, 2144-2150 Baldwin Road ($5 million) comes with everything you need for the outdoorsy lifestyle: “A nearby lake is stocked with Perch, Bass & Catfish with river rock BBQ and hostess house, wet work station & built-in picnic tables, two barns with 29 stalls & two tack rooms, large covered arena with lights multiple aviaries & chicken coops, family orchard with avocado & various citrus trees.” / Open Friday, 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m., and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
