Captain Fatty’s Beer Garden Has Opened

••• The Captain Fatty’s beer garden at Paseo Nuevo has opened, reports E. UPDATE: “Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7, as Captain Fatty’s Brewery hosts the grand opening of their pop-up beer garden from 5-8 p.m.” says a press release. “Guests are invited to celebrate with locally crafted beer on tap, shop Captain Fatty’s merchandise, and enjoy live music by Joseph Barbosa. […] The area includes 700 square feet of patio space, complemented by an Airstream trailer to serve an array of beers produced by Captain Fatty’s, as well as non-alcoholic alternatives.”

••• Restaurant Guy hears that a brewpub is opening in part of the former Outback Steakhouse space at 5690 Calle Real in Goleta (where an outpost of Lighthouse Coffee is also in the works).

••• Tamar is hiring in order to “help expand our pop-up into a full-time operation.” No word yet on where…. UPDATE 10/5: Tamar is popping up this Friday (4-8 p.m.) at the old Tyger Tyger space, and founder Logan Jones is a former Lark chef, so it sure seems possible that Tamar will end up there.

••• Considered has launched weekly deliveries of cold coffee and tea beverages in 32-ounce jugs.

••• On October 13, Satellite is throwing a “barn rave” to celebrate its forthcoming annex on E. Haley Street. The invite promises dancing, wine, and “the best DJs”; tickets are $10.

••• Montecito’s Pressed Juicery shortened its name to Pressed. —Restaurant Guy (UPDATE: MB says the change happened a long time ago.)

••• Chef-owner Nathan Peitso’s Sear Steakhouse in Solvang has completed its transition to Juniper on Fourth. From the announcement:

Juniper on Fourth will be open Friday through Tuesday. The restaurant and bar features indoor/outdoor dining with a focus on what’s fresh, local, fun and family-forward. The new, open-air Tap Garden welcomes guests with signature cocktails on tap, beer, and wines by the glass, while the indoor bar will also offer a full cocktail list.

At lunch, guests can expect sandwiches, salads, and bar bites, which are served all day. Dinner will also feature heartier composed plates, and a kids menu will be available during lunch and dinner. A sampling of lunch menu items includes Swedish meatballs (potato purée, gravy, lemon herb salad), also available as a sandwich; a tri-tip sandwich; a brisket grilled cheese (American, Gruyere, and white cheddar cheeses, caramelized onions, salsa mojo); and a signature cheeseburger. Dinner plates include items such as smoked quail; “Artemisia Lamb” (roasted carrots, Jerusalem succotash, artemisia, chimichurri); and both a “Little Fish” (currently King Salmon) and “Big Fish” offering (whole fried, local rockfish with achiote, house-made tortillas, slaw, salsa verde).

so far I’ve heard 3 great reviews on Juniper- don’t miss on the cocktails or the new corn dish!

Fyi…Pressed name change happened over 2 years ago. .the product labels etc all updated. Maybe the sign was just changed or no one noticed before
