••• Tondi Gelato’s former storefront at Paseo Nuevo has been taken by Sweetaly Gelato, which has two locations in Salt Lake City. More when it opens, which could be by the beginning of August.

••• The Architectural Board of Review’s June 8 agenda includes a revamp of 214 and 220 Anacapa Street in the Funk Zone (currently the site of Zaca Coffee‘s trailer) into two spaces, one of which is labeled a coffee shop and the other of which is labeled “taco restaurant.” No word yet on who might take the new spaces. Opening a taqueria across from Mony’s would be a bold move—which increases the odds that Mony’s is planning to move.
••• Corazón Comedor has switched back to table service (again).
••• Apiary is taking over the space of cute little plants-and-more shop Idyll Mercantile (on Chapala, near Kanaloa Seafood), where everything is on sale till the place is cleared out. UPDATE: “Next weekend is our last weekend,” says Idyll founder Hannah Bangs. “I’m ordering more plants just so people can get a sale and use their gift cards.” The shop will be open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
••• Fresco at the Market introduces breakfast (8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. daily) on June 15. Also new: all-day weekend brunch and dinner pop-ups on Wednesdays and Fridays, when “with rotating menus and chef-driven specials that change regularly.”
••• The Santa Barbara Wine Festival returns to the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History on June 27.
••• The Brewhouse in West Beach is now operating as a coffee bar. “It’s still kind of a soft opening,” says co-owner Grant Danely, “but our hours right now are opening at 7 a.m. and closing around 1 p.m. until we get everything in place regarding the menu and pastries. We have a generation-two La Marzocco machine, and state-of-the-art grinders that measure to the gram. Also, I think we are one of the only coffee shops that have a Wally milk steamer.”

••• Lots of folks have been asking when Los Agaves on Milpas might reopen. The official word—as in the flyers posted at the site—is that they’re doing maintenance and hope to be finished soon (but that’s all we’re getting for now).
