Paseo Nuevo’s Attempt to Extend Its Lease Hits a Snag

••• “In a stunning blow to Paseo Nuevo, the Santa Barbara Planning Commission rejected a long talked-about development agreement between the mall and the City of Santa Barbara. […] City planners and Paseo Nuevo Owners LLC have been working on an agreement for the iconic downtown property for the past three years. ••• “Road Repair Project to Close Trail in Mission Canyon Above Santa Barbara […] The Southern California Edison construction work along Spyglass Ridge Road is expected to continue through October.” That sounds like the project will be finished then, but no: “Starting Oct. 31, the trail will be open for recreation access most weekends and holidays (from Saturday morning to Sunday evening).” There’s no indication as to when weekday access will resume. —Noozhawk
