Groundbreaking for New 2.6-Mile Bike Path

••• Ever dream of being an innkeeper? A White Jasmine Inn at 1327 Bath is on the market for $1.9 million. It only has three rooms, so you’d be starting small.

••• Some bozo has been starting fires at the Hot Springs trailhead. If you see a fire there, reminds the Montecito Trails Foundation, call 911.

••• From Caltrans: “The coastal bike path along US Highway 101 in Ventura County will be closed between Mussel Shoals and Bates Road on Fri., July 31, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for repair of two sinkholes. The schedule is subject to change.”

••• The other day, someone drove right into the Hudson Grace store at the Montecito Country Mart. Luckily, no one was hurt.

••• Also at the Country Mart, the small space next to James Perse appears to be getting a new tenant. Could just be a pop-up, of course.

••• At 2 p.m. on July 29, the city is holding a groundbreaking for construction of the Las Positas and Modoc Roads Multiuse Pathway Project. “The Las Positas and Modoc Roads Multiuse Pathway is a Vision Zero project that will create a safe separation for bicyclists, runners, and pedestrians from higher speed vehicle traffic along Las Positas and Modoc Roads. The 2.6-mile long path is a transformative project that will connect the beach, schools, parks, and commercial centers with the community along the Pacific Coastal and Crosstown Bike Routes.”
