Construction is complete and 800 Santa Barbara is now available for immediate occupancy. The property is located at the corner of Santa Barbara and De La Guerra: restaurants, shops, the Funk Zone, the farmers’ market, the Santa Barbara Bowl, even the beach—all is walkable from your front door.
The market shows no signs of cooling down yet—many of last week’s sales were for well above ask. Notable ones include a sweet 1948 house in San Roque; Palomino Road with nice outdoor space; the Alta Mesa house with the fabulous garage door; and Moorish-inspired architecture on E. Cota Street.
The University of California reportedly intends to occupy the property, but whether the plan is for classrooms or housing remains unknown.
Plus: Montecito’s drab new sound wall; photos of the Butterfly Lane pedestrian undercrossing; Rad Power Bikes is opening a showroom here; Leslie Lewis Sigler’s dazzling paintings of silverware; sculptural nails at Domecíl.

Noteworthy new listings also include big and turnkey in Ennisbrook; Alex D’Alfonso midcentury with Riviera views; oceanfront on a Mesa cul-de-sac; 1928 house rich with period detail; and more.
