Onus Donuts Is Now Open on State Street

December 2, 2019|by Erik Torkells

••• It took a bit longer than expected, but Onus Donuts has opened on State Street, between Haley and Gutierrez. For the next few days, it’ll open at 8 a.m., then shift to 7:30 a.m. Above: “Fresh blueberries, vanilla-lemon frosting, and lemon zest, all nestled on a blueberry cake donut.”

••• “The Santa Barbara News-Press reports that Tyler David Beerman, age 33 and the owner of Mexican restaurant Vegan GreenGO at 3613 State Street, has been charged with soliciting the murder of his ex-girlfriend, a judge, and two Sheriff’s officials from County Jail.” —Restaurant Guy

••• First smoke, then fire at a recent visit to the Rosewood Miramar: the first photo is of a cocktail, the Marching Men, that the Manor Bar smokes inside a glass chamber; the second photo is of pistachio crème brûlée flambé at Caruso’s. If you’re in need of comfort food, by the way, I highly recommend the pasta listed on the menu as Fettuccine Double Butter and Périgord Truffle. Actually, just saying the dish’s name provides a certain comfort….
