First Look at Bistro Amasa’s Lunch Menu

••• Tyler x Lieu Dit is “taking a seasonal pause and using the quieter winter months to make a few thoughtful updates,” promising to reopen in the spring.

••• Mother Dough Bagels has expanded its days of operation beyond Friday through Sunday: it’s now open Wednesdays and Thursdays (8 a.m.–1 p.m.), too. The menu is still a bit limited on the new days.

••• John Palminteri reports that the Waterfront Department received three applications for the Anchor Rose spaces—one for upstairs, two for downstairs.

••• Beginning this week, Bistro Amasa is serving lunch Wednesday through Sunday. The porch should make for a lovely setting. Here’s the menu, along with a photo of the steak sandwich.

••• The annual Garagiste Wine Festival is February 6 and 7 in Solvang.

••• Something I had never seen before: Rascal’s is selling “memberships.” For $25 per month or $250 per year, you can get “a complimentary chef-selected appetizer every Wednesday; a complimentary agua fresca every Wednesday; 10% off during regular service days; early access to pre-fixe dinners, specials, and limited events before they open to the public.” (Annual memberships also include a “complimentary large bamboo cutting board for first time members.”)

••• Piroshky Piroshky, an Eastern European bakery based in Seattle, is popping up at the Brass Bear Uptown again on February 12. Below: a beef-and-cheese piroshky. (“You may be asking, ‘What is a piroshky?’ It’s an Eastern European turnover sandwich […] available in both sweet and savory.”)
