i’m happy to hear that Augies has lowered the prices ! we ate there one time, four of us , we each had one drink. we had shared 3 starters and a main each. They should stop charging for chips and salsa!
our bill was $400 without tip. ridiculous . Locals don’t want to pay those prices! Playa Azul here we come!
its REALLY bad dim sum. taste frozen, not fresh
Glad to see that upper De La Vina is getting some love. First Los Agaves, then Handlebar, then Breeosh, and now a new Mexican place. I'd say that corridor has some untapped potential still - walking distance from so many neighborhoods! Really looking forward to trying some of these places.
Thanks for that info. Driven by a million times but haven’t been.
I totally agree!
Rincon Brewery Santa Barbara in the Funk Zone finally got permits to do improvements and put in a full kitchen. Work has already begun. That Rincon Brewery location is temporarily closed and will be re-opening hopefully in Spring of this year with our full menu that matches the Carpinteria and Ventura location.
According to feng shui, putting up a wall in front of the front door blocks the energy. Could that have caused the turnovers? I know that wall kept me away.
I just learned that China Pavillion, on Chapala serves dim sum on Saturday and Sunday.
Matt Kettman highly recommends it..."While there are no carts to snag dishes off of at China Pavilion, the food comes out so steadily that it doesn’t matter. Our first dish, the lotus-wrapped chicken, turned out to be one of our favorites, though it was hard to decipher in the blur of dumplings, duck, and buns that ensued.
Upon leaving, my dumpling-loving daughter proclaimed it to be her new favorite restaurant. "Why haven’t we gone here before?" she wondered. I didn’t have an answer, but it won’t be long before we’re back."
Wow! So much to look forward to. Thanks again for your excellent coverage:)
Thank You… Thank You… for coming to Santa Barbara! After hearing so much about the original location in Naples we just had to try what everyone has been raving about ! Absolutely did not disappoint….. We were a party of 6 and everyone loved everything that was ordered . Pizza, pasta, salads and the Italian wine ???Bravo L’ Antica Pizzeria : Larry Ameen
Great reporting, thank you. Crazy how many restaurant projects are under Chris Chirappa. He's quickly become the low-end Sherry Villanueva/Acme group.
What’s the deal with the Harbor Restaurant on the pier? Asked some staff and they had no idea about the potential upgrade.
Wish someone would open a good Chinese/dim sum place. We seem to be all good on farm to table spots.
Aren’t these the guys that tried to use the owner of a successful SoCal chain to get accepted by the city to win the lease for the beachside and then they stab her in the back by kicking her out and then changing the name to Ellwood. Then the weather takes out the restaurant, seems like a bit of fate or as we call it karma at it’s finest.
Siteline is the best read in town, period.
We know you made plenty of money off her death and are just covering for those who are dishonoring her wishes to mine their own pockets.
Watch your neighbor when turning on to Haley from Anacapa using the outside lane. Quite often the driver using the inside lane drifts over to the outside lane…mid turn!
You mean spanish colonizer?
My designer has been buying from Lucca Antiques stores in NY and LA for our homes for years, she was overjoyed when they opened here. Montecito lost a real design gem! A shame for those of us who loved going in there to shop...and Ellen! I always saw her there chatting with the owners and buying up a storm. Doubt she will step foot in RH! Agree with your comment, they sell garbage.
State & Gutierrez by Little Rainbow Foot Spa.
The restaurant at Goleta Beach is a rotten building and needs to be torn down.
Shhhh, don't tell people about the Garden Street/101 deal. I have saved a lifetime in minutes using the outer lane to get around slow pokes.

I am interested in learning about future tours.
creatures of habit probably take the left side left turn lane on the Garden St. 101 entrance more often to avoid having to merge left as you do when entering the on-ramp in the right lane. the two lanes converge before transitioning to the freeway.
