Here’s the weather forecast from Jack Martin of Action Roofing. To sign up for his daily emails, send him a note at [email protected].

The weather system working its way towards us is quite impressive on the satellite. Rain will start out in SLO and Santa Barbara County overnight and into Monday, and it’ll move further south Monday afternoon. We should just see 1/2” to start. As the low moves closer to us, the real event will begin. Tuesday is the day. Rain will be heavy at times, with a chance of thunderstorms almost anywhere. Where a thunderstorm occurs, we could see rainfall rates greater than 1 inch per hour. Wednesday will be more showery, but areas will still see good accumulations. With south winds, Santa Barbara hills and coastal areas will see the greatest total. They are now talking about 5 inches in the mountains. For coastal areas 2 to 3 inches is likely. This will be a warmer system, because it is coming from the west. Snow levels will be 6500 to 7000 feet. Coastal areas can even see some low 70s on Monday. Thursday maybe some lingering showers, but for the most part the rain will be over. Dry weather on tap though Saturday, with the next chance of rain Sunday.

PRICE CUTS
The week’s top price reductions: Price war on Oak Creek Canyon Road; shockingly low price for a 6,100-square-foot Picacho Lane estate (↓$500K); Sea Cliff house inches its way toward reality (↓$85K); Birnam Wood new-build ($325K); and three Olive Mill condos (↓$1.164 million).
