New Branding for Beachfront Santa Barbara Hotel

••• A Noozhawk article says that “Santa Barbara’s Mar Monte Hotel has appointed Ingrid Braun as general manager and Nathan Lingle as executive chef of the 200-room beachfront hotel, which is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.” But I think the real news here is that the hotel in question, at 1111 E. Cabrillo, was formerly known as the Hyatt Centric.

••• And a Noozhawk article announcing that The Webster will soon open an accessories boutique inside the Rosewood Miramar Beach Resort says it “will feature brands such as The Gatehouse by James Perse, goop Sundries Shop and the recently launched Shop at Miramar,” when of course those are the other stores that already exist at the resort.

••• Four months into the pandemic, “CVS and Target will require customers to wear masks in their stores across the United States.” —KEYT

••• “Southern California Edison is conducting aerial inspections of electrical equipment with helicopters and drones across Santa Barbara County’s South Coast. Contracted helicopters began flying over local communities where Edison’s infrastructure sits starting earlier this week and are expected to wrap up Saturday.” —Noozhawk

••• “With waterfront property at a premium, Commercial Fishermen of Santa Barbara, a non-profit working to preserve the resilience of the local commercial fishing community, has been working with the City Council, Waterfront Department and Harbor Commission to ensure the shore-side spaces needed for gear, boat storage and cold storage do not disappear. They are also hoping to expand their footprint in the harbor, striving to turn the $35 million commercial fishing industry into a $70 million industry and aid in the city’s economic recovery from the coronavirus crisis.” —The Log (h/t Edible Santa Barbara)
